In 2019, Lanier Nail, his wife Kari, and their three children (Laynie, Hallie, and Isaac) moved to the Shoals, where he became rector of Shoals Anglican Mission. Lanier had previously served as a campus missionary to Jacksonville State University and had helped plant churches in Hartselle and Tuscaloosa. He also has experience as a Hospice Chaplain.

Lanier is a graduate of the University of Alabama (B.S)  and Beeson Divinity School (M.Div.) at Samford University.

Both Lanier and Kari are natives of North Alabama and are happy to now call the Shoals home.
